SUMMARY:“Unexpected Encounters” an exhibition by Alan Trugman
DESCRIPTION:“Unexpected Encounters”\, an exhibition by Alan Trugman\, will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center from October 3 through November 14. An opening reception will take place on Friday\, October 3 from 5-6:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public. \n“Unexpected Encounters\,” is a creative exploration into the possibilities of printmaking. Alan’s unique approach combines the techniques of relief and monoprinting\, creating an interplay between the inherent structure of the carved relief plates and the expressive spontaneity of monotype printmaking. Each print is a singular work of art that reveals a dialogue between color and mark. Alan’s process of printing and responding allows for a balance between intention and unpredictability\, resulting in compositions that are both deliberate and unexpected. \nAlan is a multidisciplinary artist working in printmaking\, photography\, and digital art. Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles\, he studied theater at Los Angeles City College and the University of Southern California. He spent 20 years in the entertainment industry\, contributing to both costuming and costume design for television and film\, before relocating to Cape Cod in 1993 to reconnect with his passion for visual art.

DESCRIPTION:Join Glen Carliss with your partner on a 6-week journey to learn social dancing for two. These lessons are easy going and a unique opportunity to have FUN learning to dance with a partner. Glen will proceed slowly and will not leave anyone behind. \nPlease dress to impress in your favorite formal wear for our last lesson on December 1st where we will debut and celebrate your new found skills and confidence with a champagne toast\, refreshments and a live band! \nRegistration Required\, space is limited. $300 per couple for the 6 week session\, Mondays 6-8pm October 27th-December 1st. Register online. \nPlease dress in comfortable casual loose-fitting clothes. Hard soled shoes are best. Sneakers and sandals don’t work as well. Please bring along water to stay hydrated throughout class.
