SUMMARY:Online Pre-Release Listening Session: "Ba-Da-Bu Ba" by WAMPTRONICA
DESCRIPTION:Poly-Groove Records invites you to an online listening party on Bandcamp celebrating Ba-Da-Bu-Ba\, a project rooted in groove\, improvisation\, and collective listening. \nThe event takes place Tuesday\, February 10\, from 8 to 8:30 PM at Bandcamp Listening Party. \nThis is not a performance or livestreamed set. It is a shared listening experience: the music played front to back\, in real time\, with space for reflection\, conversation\, and presence. Listeners are invited to tune in from wherever they are and experience the project as a continuous work\, rather than as isolated tracks. \nBa-Da-Bu-Ba sits at the intersection of deep rhythm\, jazz sensibility\, and Afro-diasporic musical traditions. The listening party creates a space outside of algorithms and playlists\, returning to a slower\, more intentional way of engaging with music—together. \nDate: February 10\, 2026\nTime: 8:00 pm\nLocation: Online — Bandcamp Listening Party\nhttps://polygrooverecords.bandcamp.com/…/ba-da-bu-ba…\nHost: Poly-Groove Records\nArtist: WAMPTRONICA\nHeadphones encouraged.\nConversation welcome.\nThere is no charge to attend.\nThis event is open to longtime listeners\, collaborators\, and anyone interested in music that values musicianship\, groove\, and communal experience.

SUMMARY:Fabric & Fiber Sale
DESCRIPTION:Woods Hole Public Library volunteers will be holding their eagerly awaited Fabric & Fiber Sale on Sunday\, February 8\, from 10 AM to 2 PM. People come from far and wide\, first to donate\, and later to buy fabric\, yarn\, notions\, and much more. This one day event is a major source of fundraising for the Library’s operating budget\, and the generosity of both donors and shoppers are crucial to its success. \nAfter Falmouth’s only fabric store\, Fabric Corner\, burned down in 2014 leaving the town without a local place to buy material for sewing projects\, Woods Hole Public Library community members hatched a plan to hold a fundraiser sale on Super Bowl Sunday at the Library. The first sale in February 2015 was a great success\, and the tradition has continued and grown every year\, with only a one year interruption due to Covid\, making this year’s sale the 11th anniversary of this community event. \nThe Woods Hole Library is accepting donations for both the Fabric & Fiber Sale until February 5. If you are doing some end of the year cleaning of fabric\, yarn\, craft supplies\, jewelry\, and accessories\, bring your unwanted treasures to the Library! Donating helps to keep items out of the waste stream and into the hands of eager crafters while also benefiting our community-supported village Library. \nDonations for the sale have been pouring in since the beginning of January. Among this year’s treasures are a large collection of trimmings for upholstery projects\, many sewing machines\, tabletop looms\, rug hooking materials\, quilting and knitting books\, vintage textiles\, luxury yarns\, and much more. As usual\, there is an abundance of quilting cotton\, decorator fabrics\, and fleece of all colors and patterns. Along with notions\, knitting needles\, and a veritable rainbow of workhorse acrylic yarns\, there is truly something to delight every crafter. \nMany volunteer hours go into making this sale a well-organized\, fun\, community shopping experience. The Woods Hole Public Library is happy to offer this sale both as an important source of fundraising and as a way to further its mission of sharing community resources. For more information\, please visit woodsholepubliclibrary.org or call 508-548-8961. Please note\, free parking for this event is available just down the street from the Library in WHOI’s Challenger Lot.

SUMMARY:International Book Group – Midaq Alley by Najīb Maḥfūẓ
DESCRIPTION:The International Book Group at West Falmouth Library is a volunteer-led group that meets on the first Wednesday of each month 3:45-5 p.m. Selections have either foreign settings or foreign authors\, usually both. New members are always welcome! Annual registration is requested to receive important communications about schedule or location changes. Meetings are both in-person and on Zoom. \nConsidered by many to be Mahfouz’s best novel\, Midaq Alley centers around the residents of one of the hustling\, teeming back alleys of Cairo. No other novel so vividly evokes the sights and sounds of the city. The universality and timelessness of this book cannot be denied. \n“Naguib Mahfouz virtually invented the novel as an Arab form. He excels at fusing deep emotion and soap opera.” —The New York Times Book Review \n“Mahfouz’s work is freshly nuanced and hauntingly lyrical. The Nobel Prize acknowledges the universal significance of his fiction.” —Los Angeles Times Book Review
