Arts Alive 2026 will feature an Art Tent with activities throughout the weekend, including songs and stories, painting, spinning, weaving, and more! Plus, there will be a variety of art supplies to provide lots of unstructured creative activities for children and adults of all ages.
The Art Tent is located near the intersection of Shore Street Ext and Main Street, on the right-hand side of the Falmouth Library Lawn as you face the Library from Main Street.

Saturday, June 13
10 AM to 10:45 AM: Kathleen Healy, Songs for Kids
Kathleen Healy will sing interactive songs for and with kids and families, Yael Zakon-Bourke will assist with simple craft projects that reinforce the songs’ nature themes.

Noon to 1 PM: Yael Zakon-Bourke, Make a Cape Cod Lighthouse!
Yael Zakon-Bourke will lead kids in making a Cape Cod Lighthouse that really lights up, using simple materials.
1 PM to 2 PM: Irene Young, Handspun bracelets and American History
Irene has been dyeing up red white and blue baby angora goat locks to spin up little braclets for kids , while explaining the process and history. They’ll take home this little piece of history with a deeper knowledge of our past.
2 PM to 3 PM: William Brown. Pokemon Planter Painting (limit 12)
William Brown, of Pine Island Maker Studio, makes small cement Pokemon planters and will be donating 12 of them for this fun craft painting activity.
3 PM to 4 PM: Mwalim, Songs and Stories
Mwalim,”DaPhunkee Professor” (Morgan James Peters) is a musician, composer, theater artist, writer, and educator, and storyteller. He will share stories with and without words.
4 to 5 PM: Marie Younger Blackburn and Chase, Inclusion: Poetry and Drumming
Marie Younger Blackburn will share her poetry, while her son Chase accompanies on drums.
Sunday, June 14
11 AM to Noon: Diane Precourt, Kids Paint Self-Portraits
Paint Your Own Masterpiece! Unleash your creativity at our Self-Portrait Painting Station. We provide the canvas, paints, and inspiration—you bring your unique face and imagination. This activity is fun, beginner-friendly, and open to children of all ages.
Noon to 1 PM: Joanne Briana-Gartner, Zentangle
Joanne Briana-Gartner teaches Zentangle patterns and techniques. Zentangling looks complicated, but it is a relaxing and fun way to create abstract art by drawing structured repetitive patterns.

2 PM to 3 PM: Diana Lee: Live Portrait Painting Demonstration
Join us for a live, one-hour oil painting portrait demonstration with the accomplished, award-winning artist Diana Lee! She will be focused on capturing the model’s likeness in a quick, one-hour study with a limited palette, and will be happy to answer any questions after the session.
3 PM to 4 PM: Laurel Moore, Cardboard Loom Weaving
Laurel Moore is a fiber artist and weaver who will be demonstrating the basics of weaving.
Participants will make their own woven piece using a simple cardboard loom and a variety of colored yarns.
4 PM to 5 PM: Marilyn Rowland, Make a Father’s Day Keychain
Marilyn will offer various options for creating a Father’s Day gift, including tying a paracord keychain, painting a wooden keychain, and coloring a cardboard fridge magnet.
