I Feel the Earth Move: Northeast Regional Ceramics Exhibition
September 14 @ 10:00 am - October 2 @ 4:00 pm
Cotuit Center for the Arts will host I Feel the Earth Move: Northeast Regional Ceramics Exhibition, a showcase of innovative ceramic art September 14 to October 12, with an opening reception on September 14 from 3 to 5 PM. The reception is free and open to the public.
Featuring the works of five celebrated ceramicists—John Brickels, Claudia Olds Goldie, Chris Gustin, Neil Grant, and Sarah Rossi—the exhibition explores the transformative possibilities of clay. These artists have taken a versatile and ancient material and turned it into extraordinary, unconventional works that will inspire, intrigue, and spark curiosity. Visitors will be left wondering, “How did they do that in clay?”
From large, billowing cloud forms and intricately detailed Italian cityscapes to whimsical shard sculptures and otherworldly creatures, this exhibition demonstrates the beauty and ingenuity of clay as an artistic medium. Each piece challenges traditional notions of ceramics, showcasing both the technical prowess and imaginative spirit of the artists involved.
