Passport to Rome

January 26 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Cape Symphony Orchestra will perform “Passport to Rome” on January 25 & 26, 2025. The orchestra will be conducted by Darko Butorac, a candidate to become Cape Symphony’s next Music Director.

This season’s Masterpiece performances will each be led by a candidate for the Music Director position at Cape Symphony. The repertoire features warhorses from the Western canon chosen to showcase the talent and skill of these fine conductors. The program for “Passport to Rome” includes Gioachino Rossini’s overture to La Gazza Ladra and Ottorino Respighi’s Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. Cape Symphony Orchestra’s Principal Oboe Jillian Honn and Principal Bassoon Meryl Summers will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Oboe and Basson, and Principal Cello Jacques Lee Wood and Assistant Principal Cello Velléda Miragias will perform his Concerto for Two Cellos.

“Passport to Rome” will be performed Saturday, January 25, at 7:30 PM and Sunday, January 26 at 3:00 PM at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, 744 West
