“Unexpected Encounters” an exhibition by Alan Trugman

“Unexpected Encounters”, an exhibition by Alan Trugman, will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center from October 3 through November 14. An opening reception will take place on Friday, October 3 from 5-6:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
“Unexpected Encounters,” is a creative exploration into the possibilities of printmaking. Alan’s unique approach combines the techniques of relief and monoprinting, creating an interplay between the inherent structure of the carved relief plates and the expressive spontaneity of monotype printmaking. Each print is a singular work of art that reveals a dialogue between color and mark. Alan’s process of printing and responding allows for a balance between intention and unpredictability, resulting in compositions that are both deliberate and unexpected.
Alan is a multidisciplinary artist working in printmaking, photography, and digital art. Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, he studied theater at Los Angeles City College and the University of Southern California. He spent 20 years in the entertainment industry, contributing to both costuming and costume design for television and film, before relocating to Cape Cod in 1993 to reconnect with his passion for visual art.
