“Whimsy and Wonder” Illustrations by Gabriel Ribeiro
March 14 @ 9:00 am - April 18 @ 5:00 pm
Free
“Whimsy and Wonder,” a solo exhibition featuring the illustrations of artist Gabriel Ribeiro will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center. An opening reception will take place on Friday, March 14, from 5 to 6:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
Gabriel’s images invite viewers to step into a world where the rules of reality are playfully bent. Each watercolor illustration is a window into a dreamlike universe. His subjects may be gnomes and fairies or a Cape Cod landscape, however in either case his work sparks a sense of the fantastic.
Gabriel Ribeiro is an author and illustrator, born in Curitiba, Brazil, and raised on the Cape. Growing up, he was always fascinated by magic and fantasy. In addition to illustrating, he teaches workshops at many local art organizations including the Cahoon Museum, in Cotuit; the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, in Yarmouth; and the Cordial Eye, in Hyannis. He has self-published a children’s book, “The Autumn Faries,” and is currently co-creating a graphic novel, with fellow artist Craig Florence, about the history of the Hyannis Public Library. He is a 2025 recipient of The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s Capacity-Building Grant Program. Gabriel has a studio in West Yarmouth, MA, where he creates his whimsical illustrations.
