British Beer Company, 263 Grand Avenue, Falmouth: Noon to 2 PM: Tish Adams Trio
A favorite on New England’s live music scene, vocalist Tish Adams has a compelling stage presence and an extensive repertoire of time-honored standards. She offers fresh interpretations, yet sets a sentimental mood, in a passionate tribute to the rich jazz tradition. She can burn an up-temp swinger or melt the audience with her sensitive reading of a slow, smoky ballad, and seasons her performances with long-forgotten gems, obscure treasures, and a dash of the blues. Tish’s originals are delightfully funny or as low-down as can be, with playful and cleverly written lyrics, as she turns unexpected topics into great blues stories.
Based in Providence, Rhode Island, Tish has long-time ties to Cape Cod. Her parents live in Falmouth, and she has other relatives scattered around the Cape. She has performed many times with Bart Weismann and his ensembles, including recurring performances at the Cape Codder in Hyannis, the 2015 Provincetown Jazz Festival, and ArtsFalmouth’s Arts Alive Town Dance in 2015. Tish’s Thursday morning Jazz radio program, “The Vocalists & Localists Show,” has been on the air for 21 years. She and ten other DJs broadcast 11 jazz shows a week live from the University of Rhode Island.

The Pickle Jar, 170 Main Street, Falmouth: Noon to 2 PM: Notescape
Notescape will be at the Pickle Jar Kitchen, 217 Main Street. Notescape presents the timeless classics of the American Songbook in memorable close-harmony arrangements, moving from jazz standards of the swing era through mid-century cool jazz to more recent popular tunes.
Tom Goux leads the group. The singers are: Doug Mann, Peter Hopewood, Peter Clark, and Joe Hackler. Individually and collectively the voices of Notescape have been enhancing myriad musical endeavors on Cape Cod for over four decades.
