Duke Robillard Trio Swings at The Gallery on Main

Legendary guitarist Duke Robillard will perform with his trio at The Gallery on Main, Saturday, March 2 at 6:30 PM.

Duke will be joined by bassist Paul Del Nero and drummer Mark Teixeira. The concert will include jazz, swing and blues influences and is co-sponsored by Falmouth Jazz and the Gallery on Main.

Duke’s guitar work has seamlessly spanned the worlds of jazz, blues, and swing since he founded the renowned big band, Roomful of Blues, in 1967. Since 1980, Duke has recorded over a dozen acclaimed solo albums and toured the world both with his own band and as a featured accompanist. Called “one of the great players” by the legendary B.B. King, Duke’s upbeat live performances display of a wide variety of musical styles. Duke Robillard is a man in command of a full range of creative talents. 

Performing with Mr. Robillard is bassist Paul Del Nero along with drummer Mark Teixeira. Del Nero, a frequent guest of Falmouth Jazz. His career as a full professor at Berklee College of Music allowed him to pursue an active career in education, while maintaining his freelance career as a performer, both in the US and internationally. East Coast based drummer Mark Teixeira is a long-time member of Duke Robillard’s entourage. He has recorded and performed with a host of Blues and American music greats including playing Grammy nominated albums as a member of The Duke Robillard Band.

Tickets for the March 2 concert are $40 and available in advance at FalmouthJazz.org. The performance is at Gallery on Main, 357 Main Street, Falmouth. Doors open at 6 PM for 6:30 PM performance.
